  • 29 years in legal profession

I began my career in 1986 with a Shenandoah County Attorney. I worked in his law office for six years, learning many of the functions of the Circuit Court through examining real estate titles. In November, 1991, Marvin G. Sigler, retiring Clerk of 32 years, hired me to fill a retiring Deputy Clerk position. Denise Barb Estep had just been elected to 'fill his shoes' as Circuit Court Clerk. Denise chose me to head up the financial and accounting matters in the Clerk's Office. Through the years I have had the opportunity to learn  every facet of the operation of the Circuit Court as the Chief Deputy Clerk. Additionally, I have served on the Supreme Court's Circuit Court Judicial System Advisory Committee since 2006.

I am a 48 year old native to Shenandoah County and am a graduate of Liberty University with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice. I have a wonderful husband, Jim, to whom I have been married for 28 years.  We have been blessed with three children, Nathan (26), Natalie (25) & Nakayla (16). I am dedicated to my church and serve as financial secretary. I am also the Woodstock Chapter Leader of the The Women's Heart Link Network and greatly enjoy sharing a whole food nutritional supplement to change people's health as a wellness consultant with The Juice Plus+ Company.
